Djoko Pekik

Djoko Pekik (January 2, 1937 – August 12, 2023).  Djoko Pekik’s painting style is realist-expressive, infused with populist values. Throughout his career in the world of painting, he  held  several  exhibitions. Before 1965, he  held 3-4 exhibitions  of his works in Jakarta, then took a hiatus.

His wellspring of inspiration stems from the tangible world, fueling his creation of flawlessly executed realism paintings. However, it’s his propensity to purposefully manipulate subjects’ forms that truly sets him apart, forging a distinct artistic signature. His adeptness in harmonizing colors commands immediate attention.
