Umi Dachlan (1942 - 2009) emerges as a prominent figure in the realm of abstract art. She completed her studies at the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design, Bandung Institute of Technology (FSRD-ITB), in 1968. Upon graduating, she frequently undertook commissioned mural projects for various institutions.  Umi Dachlan’s artistic repertoire prominently features depictions of bullfights, serving as powerful metaphors for the indomitable human spirit that persists in the face of imminent danger and adversity.
